How do you tell your brand story?
Nicole Teitler is not originally from New Jersey, but we're not going to hold it against her. Originally from Long Island, Nikki On the Daily, her personal brand, moved here just over a year ago (we would say that's a great move) and has fallen in love with the Hoboken and Jersey City communities.
Segment 1
Nikki started Nikki On the Daily as a byline in her journalism career, but has since grown it into a brand within herself. Now she works with local businesses around the state helping them tell their own brand stories. Nikki also loves traveling around her communities to visit cool places and share that with her own community and followers!
Today in New Jersey History: Charles F. Hopkins, the last surviving New Jersey Civil War Medal of Honor recipient, died on February 14, 1934 in Boonton, New Jersey. Hopkins was awarded the medal for carrying a wounded soldier off the battlefield at Gaines Mill, Virginia in 1862. He also served as the mayor of Boonton.
Segment 2
Nikki discusses the current demand for "creators" among businesses. The year 2020 was a harsh lesson for some businesses that there is a need to connect with their customers and communities beyond the four walls of their business. It is also important to understand who that community is and where they "hang out" on social media. We also discuss when it's a good time for businesses to reach out to someone like Nikki.
New Jersey Fun Fact: Camden, NJ was the site of the first ever drive in movie theater!
Segment 3
We talk about some basic things businesses can do to help drive engagement and grow. To round out the episode, Nikki describes her relationship with the community at-large. Immersing herself into everything Hoboken and the surrounding areas has to offer has been humbling for her, but as New Jersey tends to do, it quickly became home.
